Greyhawk - I liked the advice column as well as the story AoD shared of his love story with his girlfriend.
However, I was turned off by his Veterans Case Against McCain post, in which he seems to be fooled by the IAVA propaganda.
He lets his ridicule for McCain slip into other posts as well, yet I saw nothing condemning Obama.
It's a shame, because I like his writing about his time in Iraq, but the ignorance/arrogance concerning politics and cheap shots (in my opinion) about McCain, yet nothing criticizing Obama (and falling for the IAVA nonsense) will probably keep me from going back to visit.
I did send the Advice on to some friends and sent his love story on to a female friend of mine who likes those sorts of things.
Someone should help him out by sending him over to This Ain't Hell to read about the IAVA stuff.

Michael,
Thanks for passing my link to others, I appreciate it. While I'm not crazy about any politician, you won't find much scorn about Obama on my blog. With the exception of my road trip and leave spent in Europe, I keep the blog related to the military. And Obama has done nothing regarding the military to deserve such scorn. You can approach the IAVA report card any way you like. Let it be known that I linked to the 06 assessment. I stayed out of the recent findings because the facts were muddied. But I'll boil it down to one bill, the one that cannot be twisted or turned around because of pork attached to it. That is the GI Bill, which McCain fought tooth and nail and even cosponsored a bill designed to derail its heavy bipartisan support. Bush and McCain stood behind lip service principles and proclaimed it too generous. When it passed (without the vote from McCain, both times - he was fundraising in California during the first vote), he took credit for it getting passed. That is the ultimate insult to every single veteran of OIF and OEF. Because of that, more than any other issue, I am not voting for McCain. And that is not an issue that can be spun any other way except the way it happened. He voted directly against my interest as a veteran and a student. So in return, I will vote against him.
I read the hootenanny over at TSO and Blackfive. I find it a bit interesting that you deride my perceived partisanship and suggest I go to a site that is just as, or even more, partisan than me, albeit in the other direction. People read what they know I suppose. I try to diversify - I bounce between Daily Kos and Michelle Malkin, from Balloon Juice to Little Green Footballs.
Cheap shots? I don't know about that. Just the facts, Jack. I try to stick to them. McCain was against the GI Bill until it was law, then he was for it. That is a fact, and there lies my opinion of the man, with the facts.
Thanks again for reading.
