Who ever would have thought 30 years ago (Gawd, was it 30?) that someday the East German candidate would be better and more pro-American than the lazy, lilly-livered spoiled West German?
Life is really poetic, ain't it?

Being an Austrian this all is very interesting to me as Germany is our neiboring country, and as a matter of fact it takes me only 20 to 30 minutes to get to the border. I don't know yet what I think of Angela Merkel, but I am not sure what I think of Gerhard Schroeder either. I somehow have the feeling that although politics are interesting, that the majority of people don't really care too much and I also get more and more the feeling that it doesn't really make that much difference for the people after all, no matter what you vote... (sorry for such a negative comment!)

Been to Germany also and absolutely loved it. The people are great. Socialism always creates apathy (much like the sleep one needs after engorging on fat foods). Hopefully, they'll wake up before it's too late. I for one would love to see the Germans really get mad (hopefully, not at us, but at all the collective nonsense). If they don't - there's always Eurabia to look forward to.

My heart breaks for the poor fella. He's been victimized, VICTIMIZED I say, by the evil USA.
