And now we'll get to watch the press give these guys more coverage than they ever would a regular average soldier.

...and that's EXACTLY what happened...
...except we also got to enjoy long coverage of the "atrocity" (their words) alleged to have occurred that Murtha's so sure about... it just feels like it's retribution for the spanking of Jesse Macbeth

Wearing protctive gear but showing around their press credentials and cameras. This somehow means the press was not endangering themselves and the soldiers through reckless action? come on, this is ridiculous. I don't know why the military even tolerates cameras being allowed into combat or supply convoys, they have to know that this attracts attacks on those convoys. They have to know. Yet they are willing to sacrifice the lives of soldiers just so the media can get a (bad) story about the same soldiers.
This is not how to fight a propaganda war. Let alone a shooting war. I have to assume that they wouldn't have a "camera man and a soundman" unless they were lugging around serious equipment.
