Hahahah...what an a$$monkey. God, if I was going to impersonate a soldier to make them look bad, I'd do a little RESEARCH first and foremost, then I'd pick a unit that's a little less high profile than 3/75 Rangers or SF......

Stolen Valor is full of examples of people like this. The bigger the story the faster the media laps it up. He has to be a ranger because they are elite, just ordinary grunts are just dumb and expendable.

People don't know how lucky they are that there is a Riot act. They wouldn't last an hour if the martial branches of the military set their sights on them for annihilation.

I've got mixed feelings about the guy. I don't think he's quite all there, a bit touched, if you know what I mean. Too bad he got sucked into this crap where the anti-war bozos are giving him the attention he craves, else he would be just another Napoleon wandering the streets.

I don't know if this is the same guy?

I know you don't like me, but I just saw the video. The site is "iffy", but if there are some rouge soldiers out there they need to be stopped. If this guy is wacked, then he needs to be stopped. Before you knee-jerk react, somebody OFFICIAL needs to be notified.

Christ I hate this sh*t.

Rouge soldiers? That's gotta be against grooming regs. And doesn't this come awfully close to contravening "Don't ask, don't tell"? I'm pretty sure they'll be stopped.

C'mon, Sal. You can't possibly be equivocating about this... everything is wrong about this guy.
Think back to your Marine days... would you have EVER, in a million-billion-zillion years, had a uniform that looked like that? I'm not talking about a few well-worn sets of field greens... we've all got those. I'm talking about wrong unit, hat backwards, wrong decorations, wrong sleeve roll...
Any soldier who's not a total screw-up takes pride in their uniform, and take great pains to make sure everything is right (and because there's a brutal public hazing waiting for you if it's wrong), and total screw-ups don't make it through RIP, let alone the entire Ranger course.
He's a fraud... no need to seek out a possible nugget of truth in there.

That's the first I've seen of any official reaction and it's the right one. Let's just hope it's not the last one.

This is VERY interesting... There could be a LOT more to this story than meets the eye...
"Jesse Adam Macbeth" was apparently born "Jesse Adam AL-ZAID"..
He had his name changed as a baby in Pima County Arizona on 07/09/86...Case number C234837....
Go to this website and search by the name Macbeth...

This is just too priceless to be true. Another Fitzmas denied.
I took a brief plunge into the fever swamp that is the Democratic Underground to get their read on the "fake but accurate Ranger story". Here's what one of the duller knives in the drawer opined:
"Stay alert. If Rove is doing it, others will pick up on it. This could be some kind of right-wing discrediting hoax, or even a cadre of lefties trying to "heighten the contradictions" by publishing false information (sad but true). I'd hate to imagine anyone in gov't would stoop so low as to put this guy out there to discredit IVAW.
Has anyonw contacted IVAW to encourage them to disassociate with this guy before they get Rathered or Leopolded?
BWAAAHAHAHAHA!!!

I call on all my Veteran brothers to hunt down and kill this little prick! He's a traitor to the United States, an agent of our enemies.

having scrubbed any memory of jesse macbeth or their credulity of the same from youtube, they have replaced him with this bbc video of ivaw members alleging things such as that it is common practice to keep an extra shovel on patrols so that when a civilian is shot for violating curfew, the shovel can be laid with the body to imply that he was digging to plant an ied.

I just discovered that this Jesie MacBeth story is probably a lie. The moment I watched his mia culpa I prayed that it was untrue because the damage it could do to our military if the world and the American public discovered that this was true, and this is how Don Rumsfeild's military operates. The American Military has the reputation of being the justified armed forces of the planet, a proud position. Now imagine that all destroyed with Jessie MacBeth's story. Well, not a day after being relieved from the MacBeth story, I saw another story about soldiers slaughtering innocent Iraqi women and children; and this story was on CNN. What it the good Lord's name is going on in Iraq. I also discovered that Don Riumsfeild is really a CEO of a major alternative-sweetner company. Maybe this explains why we are in a country we have no justified reason for being in. Bring our soldiers home.

We posted this at Protein Wisdom but it could just as well be posted here. As we said then, thanks for unwittingly pitching in to make this baby work so fine. Flocks are a thing much unappreciated. Yee-Haw!

The original post is at PW. Looks like they're still having a Kool Aid day in the park with it. I'm sure y'all do the same.
