It was an ok behind the scenes look at the jihadis. They did imply that jihadis are winning, mentioning that their numbers are the same no matter their casualties, that the US will be there for years etc. They did use footage of Col. McMaster who was a realist about the situation but that seemed to be used to only reinforce their point....

However interesting the 60 minutes report was the comments of Kalev L. Sepp on the pbs.org site were the most informative.

I caught the last 25 minutes or so. The moment I realized what I had stumbled upon my expection was of a drumbeat of the stupidity of the American endeavor...Consequently, I was pleased that the portion I heard was not thus.

Moreover, at leaset one of the journalists interviewed was explicit in his presentation of the nihilism of the religious whose hope of salvation resides in murder. A reference to terrorists discussing about "how many virgins do you think there'll be..." was a pretty frosty and explicit capture of the murderers' mindset.

Sepp and McMaster are both given a fair go as well.

I thought it was a pretty fair presentation. I didn't think it so much sent a message that the jihadists were winning, but rather that the situation had evolved into a stalemate from the start of the war to the time of the filming.
