As I recall, "If Lauer was the advocate for the anti-war case," because he isn't. He is the liberal media guy that according to the NY Post went and played golf with GWH Bush and son and then denied it. I saw the show this morning,(which is rare for me to watch as per the previous remark,) and I don't doubt Captain Powell's words. Nonetheless it was a dog and pony show. Matt Lauer doesn't just surprise, surprise, show up in Iraq anymore than Condi or Gonzales. It is one thing to deseminate phsyop, it is another thing to believe it yourself.

May have been a dog and pony show, but it rings true. The vast majority of troops believe in what we are doing. It's just the ones that don't are more vocal about it...

Armynurseboy, I have no doubts whatsoever of the morale of the troops being higher than is being reported in the press. If there is one thing that both the left and right in America can count on it is that we are being misled by the press.
As per GrayHawks post above, we can only count on the MSM to vacilitate, manipulate and obfuscate any information that might remotely be required by the citizens of this fair land to come to an informed opinion.
The left and the right are not divided by social economic backgrounds, they are divided by obtuse opinions of both sides of the spectrum who would rather prove their opinion as some how more valid, enlightened and reasonable than mine or yours, and if they have to get us to slit each others throats to do so they don't care, so long as they are right.
If nothing else the left and the right should be united in disgust with the government that manipulates the MSM to keep us in the dark and the MSM that goes along with it so that they can sip champaign with those who have political power.
Just my humble opinion of course.
