Exerpt: This past weekend my (second) wife (Sexy Squirrel) and I traveled out of state for a wedding. One of Sexy's oldest girlfriends was finally getting married and Sexy was to stand up with her. The groom's family was great, but his sister is a television journalist at a local station in Washington, D.C.
When the sister found out that I am a vet she made it a point to "praise" me and all my buddies for our great work, even though she didn't "agree with the reasons we went there." Damn. Now why did she have to go and qualify her "praise?"

my husband was retired Army....he spent '67 and '69 in Nam...In Nov'04 he died after many years of disease from Agent Orange....when he came home in '70 his family spit on him....he stayed drunk 'til he was too sick not to get sober...he became a substance abuse counselor and was a major part of helping vets get and stay sober....when our 2 daughters were in the 1st gulf war he began to suffer flashbacks...when our granddaughter escaped being blown up @ the Kobar towers he got noticebly weaker....he spent the last months of his life crying and asking " didn't we already learn this lesson?" He and I will always support w/ferocity our flag, our military, our country....there are a lot of people like us...our President was wrong...now all we can do is finish the job right this time....may God bless you all....I have a nephew in Iraq and one in Afghanistan...Wanda

Surprise! The Minneapolis Red Star, er, Star Tribune has a sane voice in columnist Katherine Kersten. Read Kersten's column and give a hat-tip to Power line.
