Not if the Mainsewer Media get ahold of it.

of course the MSM will run with this -- but only the 1/2 that makes this guy look like a "victim" of some conspiracy to silence him... He's run for a office (unsuccessfully) a few times here in AZ and I'm certain the tale he will tell in his next campaign will look nothing like the truth...

The article said it was an ART 15 punishment. That heavy it had to have been a General Officer hearing, but correct me if I'm off here. Now the lad had the opportunity to refuse the 15 and take a formal courts martial instead. Why didn't he if he thought he'd prevail? He'd have the right of appeal all the way through the system, away from the command. Unlike an 15, a CM comes with a federal felony conviction record, so I suspect he estimated that he'd not prevail and didn't want to have to list such a conviction on future job applications.

If they had anything, they would have gone straight to a court martial. An article 15 is adminsitered by the unit commander. It is non-judicial punishment and if it is the only one he receives in his career, probably won't affect his career opportunities much.
As an Arizonan and fellow Glendale resident I hope he does run against Jon Kyl. Clark will have my vote.

Actually the opposite is true - if he had a defensable position he would have declined the Art. 15 and taken the court martial. Once offered, the decision rests with the individual, not the command.
But yes, if he'd committed any grievous infractions he would have been court martialed without a second thought. The Art. 15 option is given for lesser transgressions, and essentially no one ever accused Clark of anything other than stupidity.

And Don, a General isn't needed for Art. 15 action. It's an option exercised by lower level commanders.

This bozo Clark deserves what he got. Can he not read the regs? He has no "First Ammendment Rights" - he's on active duty. You go public, in an open forum, and criticize the Commander in Chief and your CO and SGM, and don't expect to get in trouble? I remember when some idiot at Ft. Carson showed up for a protest rally against a NATO Minister's meeting held in Colorado wearing his fatigues, and got photographed carrying a sign; he was given his BCD within a week. Clark should get a BCD; the only reason he took the Art 15 was because he didn't want a court-martial conviction on his record - it's hard to sell yourself as a "war hero" candidate with a conviction. I hope Clark never gets elected - he's obviously too stupid to represent the people of Arizona...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is still an all-volunteer Army, right? Clark wasn't drafted; he joined of his own free will. If he wants out, fine, just shut up and soldier on until his time is up.
