I was supposed to be at that graduation to receive my B.S. but moved back to the States a few months ago. I'd like to think I would have been one of the people who walked out.

Gov. Schwartzenager (?) gave a commencement speech the other day. Half of the podium (teachers and facilty) stood with their backs to him, hecklers, boo(es), etc. He finished his speech and quickly left the ungrateful lot to their own devices. There is something wrong with the people provided to teach the youths of our country. They have that 60's mentality, where anything to do with the better side of the government is wrong and should be done away with.

Junker was just parroting what is considered to be "critical thinking" in German politics and media these days. Browse through this to see that what he said is not out of the ordinary in Germany:

Having worked for a military education contractor (Boston University) in Europe, I would be interested to know how the UM staff reacted. Most of the BU employees I worked with were military spouses and I'm sure the same is true for UM. I would be interested in hearing if there's any reaction from them.

Junker? Funny, a hundred years ago in Germany the junkers were the problem, and I guess they still are. Ignorant, arrogant, and useless.
