The Iraq War was started on a pretext. It has been badly led. The U.S. government hasn't been telling the truth about how things are going. The right-wingers are hostile to the idea of mentioning the dead, and the wounded are rendered invisible. And now you wonder why the military is missing its recruiting targets?

Looks like you gave your fair share of commentary from the wacky left. Maybe one day they'll wake up and realize that their plan of attack is detrimental to their agenda. Maybe one day they'll realize that their self constructed mask of superiority is transparent, and that the majority of folks can see through that mask to the insane little troll it hides. Until then, I'll have to say that I'm starting to enjoy their rantings. It's like watching at a distance as someone blindly flails at a cobweb in their path. It always looks the same, but it never stops being funny.

You probably shouldn't rely on Michael Moore for your source of information. Especially since the source is, what, a year and an election old now? You even managed to get what he said wrong. He said:
Of the 535 members of Congress, only one has an enlisted son in Iraq.”
Even that statement wasn't true at the time it was uttered on movie screens across the nation. At the time more than 7 had children in Iraq, and a great many more had children serving in the military (just not in Iraq) Even larger is the number of congresspeople that had family in the military (and not just sons or daughters) Ironically even Representative Kennedy, the guy who Moore interviewed in the segment, had a nephew serving in Afghanistan.
A great many of our members of congress, almost a fourth in fact, have served in the military themselves. Of that percentage a great many have seen active combat, and know exactly what battle is like. Sadly the percentage is dwindling, but there used to be a time when military service was a good launching pad for a political career. You can ask the left's beloved Kerry if you don't believe me.
Finally, the largest number of them, don't even have kids of service age. After all, congressman is not exactly the job for a family man. Most people seek congressional roles later in life after their children have already flown the coop. One thing I can say for all of them, it's hardly as if they don't know the ultimate price of defending the nation.
As for the administration? John Ashcroft had a kid in uniform as the movie was playing.
