Those people are awesome, showing that much support probably means a lot to those soldiers getting off those planes. I know it would mean a lot to me.

These guys greeted my unit when we first arrived home after OIF I. It brought a tear to my eye to know we were appreciated. Thanks guys!

I am helping coordinate the fundraiser for Troop Greeters. I was surprised to see the posts on here, I just spoke with Matt at Blackfive this morning. (Did he tell you we were looking for help?)
We are hoping to raise around 3-4000 dollars to purchase the new equipment. It is a hard for the greeters to accept help, they have always adamantly refused help from the soldiers themselves. I suggested the MilBlogs and they hesitated, they just want to help the soldiers, and never take a penny. I have explained that the guys are grateful for the reception they have gotten, and would probably love to see it extended to the next guys through.
We are hoping to find a group willing to accept the funds on behalf of the Troop Greeters. If you have any wuestions, please dont hesitate to ask. And from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for caring about this. It is a project very near to the heart around here.
