Yep, Delay is the snake, as opposed to the man who has refused to divorce his wife, yet has fathered children with his engaged mistress and is now going to starve said wife to death.
Oh, and the ABC poll does not surprise me. I did an informal poll at my high school, and out of 20 students, only four did not think that Terri was on life support and in a coma.
As far as the law Bush signed as governor, its basically a case of lesser of two evils. They've been discussing it over at The Corner. From what I've gathered, the law Bush signed gave incapacitated patients more rights than they previously had, but was not broader because of a lack of political support.

The real snake in this picture is the husband; he would not allow certain test that may have looked at her brain patterns, at the start she was doing quite well with therapy and then he withdrew it. The guy as a god complex. I truly believe he is afraid she would have awakened and told what actually happened to her. Everything so far has been guesswork. He is the sick one.

My thoughts, being a local resident of the Tampa Bay area for 6 years, are in the post I began last Friday night, shortly after George Felos' news conference...It's sick, it's death by angry husband, lawyer and judge...

My mother at age 90 decided that her life style (completely dependent on diapers and a wheel chair after being very active and independent for 89 years) was unsatisfactory. She quit eating and drinking. She was a complainer and wouldn't put up with any discomfort. She did ocassionally take a sip of water.
Within 60 days she passed away weighing 65 lbs at her death. She never complained of discomfort or pain.
I truly doubt that Terri will be in any pain.

Two thoughts: One, your mother made the decision HERSELF. I have absolutely NO problem with someone exercising their right to do as they wish to their own body. It's a whole 'nother ballgame when there are two conflicting sides and the court system decides to err on the side of death.
Two, the pain that Terri will suffer will come from the dehydration. If you have access to water, you do generally die a relatively painless death from starvation. If you don't have access to water, your entire body begins to dry up. Your lips become dry, cracked, and painful, you begin to get nosebleeds, your stomach can start to bleed as your stomach lining deteriorates, and you have an unquenchable thirst. If her death by dehydration is going to be so painless, why did your mother require access to water?

I think people should cut the c**p about starvation not being painful. History has documented examples of people resorting to cannibalism during extended sieges - ordinary people sometimes eating their own children. If hunger wasn't so hard to bear why do you think people did that? These were not psychos. Maybe Bob's grandmother didn't feel like complaining since that's the path she choose, or she was afraid someone might force feed her or something, but that certainly does not mean there was no pain, or that starvation in general wasn't painful.

OK, so ol' Mikey won't let Terri's parents anywhere near her but somehow we're supposed to believe that George and Jeb are going to have access?
BULLSHIT!
