This is so true, but to be honest, it's a recent realization for me. At Christmas I signed up to send one of those "care packages to any service person"--not knowing who would receive it. Several weeks later, a nice note arrived and I did a little checking and found out that it was from a soldier in Afghanistan. He wrote about how important it was to his morale to be remembered by the people back home.
It reminded me about those faithfully serving there still. And now I feel motivated to know what's going on in that country, and I feel much more connected. And there is another place to send my prayers.

Wonder why there's no coverage of Afghanistan? Wonder why most of the country's still in the hands of bandits? Wonder why troops there need more equipment? Wonder where osama is? easy---Bush and his posse--supported by the right-wing bobbleheads on sites like this---invaded Iraq for no good reason. So a question for all you Bush voters out there: like Lady Macbeth, do you ever wake up at night dreaming of the blood on your hands?

I have a friend over there who I try to email every day. I worried once that he would consider it spam - but he assured me that it was indeed good for morale, and to keep it coming ;-)
It's frustrating that there is little/no coverage of the ongoing actions there, as if the place no longer exists!
Thanks for the updates - we love 'em!

Jerry/WheresObama -
Did you even read the Chrenkoff article? Your comments are totally ad hominem, and have nothing to do with the reporting of facts on the progress in Afghanistan.
Why don't you go read the whole thing, and follow the links therein to see the real background. You might find that you learn some thing of value - because you sure won't see this material on the MSM. They don't seem to care about the incredibly good job our troops are doing in either Iraq or Afghanistan.

Interesting charge of blood on hands from one who dances in it to further his vendetta against a politician he doesn't like.
