Yes, it concerns me. These are the same dog barkers scaring people who are retired into thinking the President is going to cut their benefits. These are the same people who still say there is going to be a draft. These are the same people who think that by being jerks they are proving they are "leaders."

As I wrote to the president: What you have is the last generation on Social Security who saw first hand: The great depression, The dust bowl and WWII. These people are not unfamiliar with sacrifice and hardship. They are also the same people with a rock hard work ethic and concern for the next generation (it is called generativity) Even if you *did* tell them they may have to take a cut (which you don't) they would do it, given these facts about that generation.

I think the advertisements currently being run by moveon.org are going to backfire against them as well. They underestimate the demographic. I think when they show "old people" working, this same target audience will wax nostalgic.

The Dems, once again, are hopelessly out of touch with the American People.
