You're right. I'm convinced, and I'm not Greyhawk too.

I agree with all six year old girls everywhere. Bush = poop.

Bush is yucky. Read my blog 2!
Posted by Kos at September 12, 2004 05:36 AM
This is incredible - you guys won't believe it but I just posted a new post on my blog about how much I hate Bush!
Posted by Olliver Willis at September 12, 2004 05:38 AM
I remember when I was six. Man, the '90s were a great decade. Probably because of Clinton, who I've heard was good.
I hate Bush and also Instapundit.
Posted by Matthew Yglesias at September 12, 2004 05:42 AM
Bush might have been a dog kicking AWOL boy, we just don't know.
Posted by Kevin Drum at September 12, 2004 05:46 AM
Kevin you {deleted, profanity} every {deleted, profanity} time you think the {deleted, profanity} Repugnicants will ever {deleted, profanity} {deleted, profanity} you {deleted, profanity} with their heads shoved straight up {deleted, profanity} neocons.
Yeah, that's {deleted, profanity} right! Neocons!!
Posted by Hesiod at September 12, 2004 05:50 AM
Hesiod, you shouldn't swear like that here. It will get censored. Plus this is a thread about a picture a six year old girl drew.
By the way, have I said {deleted, profanity} you, Glenn! Lately?
Posted by Matthew Yglesias at September 12, 2004 05:55 AM
Olliver, I read your {deleted, profanity} post and it inspired me to write a {deleted, profanity} post about how {deleted, profanity} much I hate that {deleted, profanity} Bush and also I linked your {deleted, profanity} post.
Hopefully Kos will link me.
Het, Matt, stop being such a pencil {deleted, profanity} and maybe more grown-ups would read your {deleted, profanity} blog.
Posted by Hesiod at September 12, 2004 05:59 AM
I believe we've lost track of the main thread here, which, if I recall correctly, is that Bush = poop.
Posted by Atrios at September 12, 2004 06:01 AM
I'm not gay.
Posted by Andrew Sullivan at September 12, 2004 06:02 AM
I should add that Bush=poop and the MSM ignores it.
Posted by Atrios at September 12, 2004 06:05 AM
I might vote Bush.
Posted by Kevin Drum at September 12, 2004 06:06 AM
That picture was done with PowerPoint, not crayons. For cryin out loud, the default blue color was left on!
Posted by Matt Drudge at September 12, 2004 06:09 AM
Great. Now Foxnews will report what Drudge says like it's some how true. You're missing the central point, Bush kicked a little girl's dog and you're worried about crayons.

I agree with Atrios.

That doesn't sound like anything Instapundit would say. You're a fake.
Posted by Matthew Yglesias at September 12, 2004 06:39 AM
You think dog-kicking is bad, what til you hear what Bush did to the neighbor's cat.
Posted by Kos at September 12, 2004 06:47 AM
This is an obvious forgery. The dog only has two legs. We have been able to prove that Susie's dog has three legs. Please pay closer attention before you wontonly release such 'documents'.

Was it at the RNC that I heard a little girl say she couldn't vote for Kerry because he had a big chin it scared her ... and made her cry ?
Posted by MorningSun at September 12, 2004 10:51 PM
If we elect John kerry for dog catcher there won't be any loose dogs around for Bush to kick. That would be the humane way to go.
Posted by Pat in NC at September 13, 2004 01:17 AM
Also as someone with over 30 years experience as an Engineer for Binney & Smith Inc., the parent company for Crayola, let me state categorically that this is a forgery. It's obvious when one considers the aspect ratio of the line thickens in the drawing as well as the object figure incoloring (a technical term for the crayon color "within" the lines).
The crayon technology to produce lines that sharp, as well as colors that cover so evenly and match to the lines that cleanly, is still in product test at Springfield Elementary. True, back in '96 - '97 we did have limited success with the old 5850 sharp-line Crayola's, but those were recalled due to over-waxing issues. Even the new 6300 series sharp-mark Crayola series won't have that kind of even color coverage, that's still 5 - 10 years away. Sheesh. Amateur forgery "Susie", if that is your name...

Excuse me, but y'all seem like intelligent folk. Can I bend yur ear for a minute?
I'm looking for experts on the alphabet and paper and such. Good pay! Don't exactly know what to call the trade, but who knew these boys would be so hard to find. The gents in the phonebook are so busy, can't even return my calls.
Oh, and did I mention the prestige of working with CBS News? Don't forget that!
Posted by D. Rather at September 14, 2004 03:46 PM
I bet with a little powdered sugar and a big glass of milk, that picture'd be da bomb!
Posted by Oliver Willis at September 14, 2004 04:34 PM
You guys are cracking me up!
The real story isn't whether these are forgeries, the real story is whether Bush kicked a dog or not!

This is not a weblog. It is not receiving, by God, comments through an unbeliever Movable Type interface. The infidel mocks the dog he is not fit to kick, who will lick his open-sore wounds inflicted by the righteous defender of the undefeated house of the Ba'ath. The heckler jester who cowardly backflips through hedonist places of torment, lies, deceit and treachery will drown in his own blood-red wine of iniquity and the friends of Saddam will pull down his statue in Trafalgar Square. So I say it is so! It is so! Let CNN herald the news, God be praised.

Bush lied, Rather cried!
Posted by Michael Moore at September 15, 2004 03:47 AM
The backward "L's" making up the legs of the dog are in the wrong font. An obvious forgery. Cripes I thought Y'all were smart enough to have spotted that.

The blue crayon reminds me of icing.

I'd very much like to moderate one of the Presidential debates, and so very much hope that my colleague Dan Rather shuts up.
Posted by Bob Schieffer at September 15, 2004 02:43 PM
That does NOT look like a real dog! And since when is the president's torso shaped like an egg?
Posted by Schlongora Lohangi at September 15, 2004 02:53 PM
The dog, the girl, the crayons, and the paper were an obvious plant by the RNC to distract us from the fact that "W" stands for "wounding" . . . .

What's important isn't whether or not that really is a statement from a 6 year old girl. What is really important is whether or not Mr. Bush will refute the charge. Did you kick her dog, Mr. Bush? Did you?
Posted by Vishnu Troll Daddy Earth Goddess at September 16, 2004 01:25 AM
WHERE WAS DICK CHENEY DURING VIETNAM? WAS HE REALLY GETTING "DEFERMENTS" OR WAS HE JUST USING THAT AS A PLOY TO COVER UP THE FACT THAT HE WAS BUSY KICKING DOGS? WHY HASN'T BUSH SPOKEN OUT ABOUT THIS? WHAT IS BUSH HIDING? I HAVEN'T HEARD HIM DENOUNCE THESE CHARGES? DID YOU KICK HER DOG? THE WHOLE FORGERY CHARGE IS JUST A SMOKESCREEN! BUSH IS A NO GOOD DRAFT-DODGING DOG-KICKER. HE STILL AIN'T DENIED KICKING DOGS. HE NEVER SAID HE DIDN'T. JUST ANOTHER "MISTAKE OF HIS YOUTH?" WAS HE KICKING DOGS WHILE HE WAS HIGH ON COKE? WAS HE KICKING DOGS WHEN HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON GUARD DUTY IN ALABAMA? WHY HASN'T HE DENIED IT? DOG KICKER!!!
Posted by James Carville at September 16, 2004 01:30 AM
Dog tastes like chicken. URRRRP!
Posted by Michael Moore at September 16, 2004 01:37 AM
Too bad it was a dog. We would know the authenticity for sure if he had instead kicked Susie's sloTH.
Posted by shepshep at September 16, 2004 02:19 AM
Who let in all the muckadoos?
Posted by Joshua at September 16, 2004 04:37 AM

Competitive news sources has been focusing on the authenticity of the picture, when our only commitment is to the truth. It is this very truth that is being hindered by extreme right-wing ideologues, who have long had a partisan agenda to try and influence the outcome of this election. We remain, as always, neutral with regard to our pursuit of the truth. Our only obligation is to the American public.
So, with all due respect, Mr. President, just answer the question--Why did you kick this dog?
Posted by C - B.S. at September 16, 2004 04:19 PM
I just want to state for the record that I've always used pink when I'm coloring....

I, for one, am ecstatic that Dubya kicked this dog. Dogs are well-known for their autoerotic homosexual tendencies (i.e. "the licking of the balls"), which, quite frankly, disgust me. A pox on them, and a tip of my cap to Bush for addressing this social ill.
Posted by John Derbyshire at September 16, 2004 06:17 PM
Missing from all of the reported details is the very distinct possibility that Susie's dog was biting and chewing on her sister Elizibeth's rabbit at the time that the President allegedly did whatever it was that he did. The fact that a rabbit was saved by the swift and timely kick, which likely did little then startle the dog and cause it to drop the rabbit has been totally ignored by the mainstream press who are decidedly anti-rabbit.
Posted by ETM at September 16, 2004 06:18 PM
I have found a source - "Debbie" - who has stated that this drawing is fake, but essentially correct. She made the original drawing, but would have spelled the name correctly: "GOErgeY BsH"
She said that he had had engaged in dog hitting behavior (well, she actually said "He hit doggy!" but you get the idea) and while he acted friendly enough to her, she felt he was over-priviledged (Actually she said "He gets to do all sorts of things and stuff but I don't get to do NUTHIN!")
Posted by VR at September 16, 2004 11:32 PM
This obvious forgery was cooked up by Carl Rove to put Democrats in a bad light!
Posted by qoolalex at September 19, 2004 10:19 PM
"Now, after extensive additional interviews, I no longer have the confidence in this picture that would allow us to continue vouching for it journalistically. I find we have been misled on the key question of how our source came into possession of this picture. That, combined with some of the questions that have been raised by men in pajamas and in the press, leads me to a point where—if I knew then what I know now—I would not have gone ahead with the story as it was aired, and I certainly would not have used the picture in question.
But we did use the picture. We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry. It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism.
Please know that nothing is more important to us than people's trust in our ability and our commitment to report fairly and truthfully.
However, I still believe that the thrust of the original story was both true and accurate. George Bush did in fact kick this dog."
Posted by Dan Rather at September 20, 2004 09:02 PM
I remember when I saved a dogs life. It was in Cambodia around Christmas time, he was a little yellow dog. We had a vote on our Swift Boat, I voted for saving the dog just before I voted against saving the dog, but we saved the dog anyway. By the way, did I tell you that I served in Viet Nam lately? Got alot of medals, ribbons you know, the type we used to throw over walls. I wasn't like today when those bastard secret service agents mow you down while snow-boarding. Well got to go make sure lovie isn't saying something nuanced to the press again. Tah
