Your blog speaks with authority about the important subject of our Army, and so I enjoy it quite a bit.
Your endorsement of Tim Blairs' opinion about the cause of Indy's decline is, however, of indifferent quality. I think Tony George acted to protect his interests, and properly so. CART hasn't proven on its' own that it can provide a worthwhile product--why watch a half-assed American imitation of Formula One with mostly foreign drivers, when I can just catch the real, boring no-pass parade on Speed Channel?
That doesn't make IRL very compelling, I recognize. I like the idea of a series dedicated to production-based engines, I just wish more than three manufacturers took part, using more than two chassis. American open-wheel racing sucks, but it somehow doesn't seem fair to lay all the blame at the feet of Tony George.

I'm an Indy native. I've actually posted on the topic before.

I'd add that NASCAR saved the track.
But obviously, if Tony has cash for the Bush campaign, Indycar is still viable.
