By way of celebration, as I am disabled and home alone today, I'm making my third contribution to the Spirit of America.
http://www.spiritofamerica.net/
While there are many great programs being run by American troops, on their own time and due to a need they've noticed, I think the various programs that Spirit of America has going at present in Iraq and Afghanistan (there may be some in Bosnia, Korea or elsewhere as well) is a great place to contribute. While we all should take the time to celebrate and honor all members of our armed forces, I know of no better way than topping off that celebration with a contribution to these good folks.
Americans in our armed forces do more than protect us and act as peace keepers for others in the world, they also project the true spirit of America through their concerns for humanity.
I'm terribly proud of all the fine things these great American men and women are doing. I salute them with my contribution.

Thank you, Greyhawk, for your service and for this site.
And happy blog-o-versary! (Now that I think about it, I first came upon your site on Memorial Day last year when my heart was full of ... so many things. Your posts and thoughts helped me get through that day.)
God bless you and your family.
