Good balance of links. I read them all.
I offer this thought: Isn't it still a wonderful thing that we have the freedom in this country for all the peaceniks, nutnicks, and assorted others to oppose war, to demonstrate, et al?
That certainly wasn't a practice in Saddam's Iraq as your links indicate.
While we can all be frustrated by demonstrators or nut cases at times who have little or no common sense, we can still celebrate the fact that it is primarily the service of Americans in our armed services which protects their freedom to do so.
It's hard to write this. Some of the things I read and see make me extremely frustrated. But I then recall that we all disagree, and can do so, on many issues in this great country. I may oppose a new tax someone else supports, but we have the right to do so. And I think that only because we have the right to protest war that we also have the basic and lasting decency to wage it when necessary as it is at the present time.
Thot. (The more I think of this the harder it is to post, but I think in our hearts we all realize the truth. After all, I didn't say when had to hug and kiss them. ;) )
