"I have to admit that until now I have never longed for the days of Saddam, but now I'm not so sure."
In that one statement we can see what happens in the human soul when one is *given* freedom rather than earning freedom.

Having looked deeper into that post, I withdraw that remark. I misunderstood him and I apologize.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Muqtada Al-Sadr a PRO-IRAN CLERIC IN FAVOR OF TEHRAN-STYLE, SHIA-CENTRIC HARDLINE ISLAMIST GOVERNMENT AND GLOBAL JIHADISM? Personally I'm inclined to believe the new troubles have more to do with helping Democrat Kerry and the Communist Clintons/Clinton Left defeat Republican Bush - remember that the Left now argues that as proof of its contemporary, post-2000 [anti-American] non-Unitarianism, the ACLU and Barry Goldwater are now one and the same, ergo images and beliefs pertaining to Goldwaterian and Rockwellian, Conservative-Rightist QUIET America is for the 1990's CLINTON admin. and FAILED LEFTISM, while Republican Bush gets issues of "New Vietnam", UnAmericanism,[SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, DemLib] TV incest, Sigourney Weaver's female genitalia, ala "one pussy-clitoris for one penis"; Michael Jackson's celebrity pedophilia, Mormon polygamy, brother-sister marriages, activist gay-lesbian marriages, Janet Jackson's SuperBowl NIPPLE-GATE,
Semi-Nude Male-Female Open "Streaker" or "Towel" parties to sell consumer goods on family TV,...............................................................................Domestic Mom-Homemaker forced to let teeny, aka MINOR, daughter have a [ADULT?]MALE "roommate" due to out-of-control computer or cell phone billings, etal! IFF Sadr does take his orders from IRAN, then Sadr's calls for local IRAQI Shiite uprising may well be the openning shot of Radical Muslims in Iran to force LIMITED WAR upon the US, in order to help force the hyperpower USA to submit to regulatory, UN-based OWG INTERNATIONAL SOCIALIST CONTRO, WITH NUCLEARIZING NORTH KOREA TO [DELIBERATELY] DO THE SAME IN THE FALL! AT last news check, Canadian-born rocker ALANIS MORRISSETTE just "STRIPPED" her clothes off on stage - BOOBS AND BUTT, THATS ONE WAY FOR ANY DEDICATED HOLLYWOOD FEMALE LEFTY TO PERSONALLY MOTIVATE MALE-DOMINATED COMMUNIST AIRBORNE FORCES TO INVADE CANADA IN ORDER TO DEFEAT BUSH AND FREE AMERICA, ALA "RED-YELLOW DAWN" [ha-ha]!? Like any Hollywood Lefty, Alanis is now demanding her god-given Clintonian/Leftist/Unitarian right for her and all of Canada-America to be destroyed, ie if you gotta lose like AL BUNDY, LOSE BIG AND TRY TO TAKE YOUR GOP-RIGHTIST MATERIALIST AMERICAN ENEMY WITH YOU - here's to hoping Alanis shaved her beaver like any good Clintonian Republican-ista!

Joseph, go back and have another toke or three...
Baghdad and environs are making the same, wonderful mistrake as Fallujah... namely, giving the Allies a clear path to dealing with them in a military, straight-forward manner NOT abusive of rights of free speech and free assembly.
America AND Iraq win big: clear-thinking, right-thinking Iraqis recognize and respect America's commitment to free thought and dissenting thought, and recognize America's commitment to protecting Iraqis from abusive, power-grubbing mullahts... who have stepped over the line separating 'dissent' from 'armed attack'. CentCom will NOT let this window of opportunity slam shut.
Freedom has a twin brother, Responsibility.

Actually, if you check out the follow-up, Zeyad remarks that it isn't as bad as he originally thought.
And, just to provide some food for thought:
http://www.strategypage.com//fyeo/qndguide/default.asp?target=IRAQ.HTM
nut graf:
"Sadr has sort of talked himself into a corner, telling outrageous lies (the suicide bomb attacks in Iraq are the work of Americans), and appears to feel that he can seize people with a good old revolutionary coup (as was used during the Russian revolution in 1917, and many before and since.) Sadr can't win a battle like this, and it was always hoped he would realize this. But apparently not. Now a lot of people (Iraqis and coalition troops) are going to get killed because of the foolishness of one man."
Trot on over there and read the rest. There's several good posts about Falluja in that thread as well.
