In Korea, it was around 10 pm, we were getting ready to take our nose off, can't remember the reason. I went up to the crew chiefs office where I saw the same thing you did, and also thought it was an accident...until...the second one hit. Took the nose off and went home and was glued to the news. I should have anticipated, but didn't, the fact that it would take a bit longer to get to work the next day. Cars were probably a mile deep trying to get into Osan and I was a couple hours late getting to work. Send lawyers, guns and money...the shit had hit the fan....
cheers,
Dick

Warren Zevon - yes! I may have to work that quote in. One of the greatest rock songs (lyrics) of all time. If there isn't a Blog caled "Lawyers, Guns, and Money" yet I'm sure there will be.
At Barksdale I lived about 2 minutes from the gate. In fact there was a gate I could use from my subdivision, so I never even had to drive on a main street to get to work. Until Sep 12 when my 5 minute drive became a 1-2 hour drive, and going home for lunch became a thing of the past.
