Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund was established by the Intrepid Foundation in 2000 to provide financial support for the dependents of United States military personnel lost in performance of their duty. This continues an effort begun in 1982 by Museum founders Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher. Between 1982 and 1999, when Zachary passed away, the Fishers made contributions of between $10,000 and $25,000 to the families of hundreds of military personnel lost in performance of their duty. These gifts were intended to assist these families through any financial hardships that might follow the loss of their loved ones. Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher personally funded this effort until Zachary’s passing in 1999.
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund continues to provide gifts to military families that have paid the ultimate price: the loss of a loved one in defense of our country. Our goal is to provide financial support to help spouses and children of military personnel through any immediate or long-term financial difficulties they may face. This gift is made quietly and without fanfare, to protect the privacy of the families. Our goal is to support them in their time of need, and to ensure that they know that our nation appreciates the sacrifice they have made for us. The gift is made possible by contributions by Mr. Arnold Fisher, Mr. Richard L. Fisher, Mr. Steven Roth, the Stamps Family Foundation, Mr. Nelson Peltz, Mr. Thomas Lee, Mr. William Graham, and other generous supporters.
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is currently contributing to the spouses and children of U.S. and British military personnel killed in action, as defined by the casualty offices of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, and the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom, in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Information for military families
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund works in coordination with the casualty offices of the United States Armed Forces in determining families eligible for support. The Fund will provide support only to the surviving spouses and/or children of United States and British uniformed military personnel killed in action in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
To protect the privacy of the families we support, the Fund does not communicate directly with military families. Upon receiving confirmation from the armed forces casualty offices that a member of the armed forces has been killed in action in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and that the member has left behind a spouse or dependent child or children, the Fund will process a contribution for the family. The contribution will be forwarded to the casualty office of the members branch of service, who will in turn forward the contribution to the family.
Eligible military families need take no action in regard to this contribution. It will be delivered to them through the military casualty office.
